16th Annual Children’s Fun Fair Day

Wow the children’s fun Fair Day last year held for the first time at The Crescent Camana Bay was a resounding success.

This year will be even better. Sponsored by Progressive Distributors and CITN, it is an event in which the whole community comes together through the provision of gifts, resources, or just helping out. Come out and enjoy a day where the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman cooks and serves food. Roteract will be helping with signing up the children up so they get the chance of winning a bicycle, we give five away, Leos Club provide snow cones, and the Cayman Islands Royal Police Service Dog Handlers, Drug Squad and Community Officers entertain the kids. It is great fun when the police traffic department has the kids sitting on the bikes or in the police cars with the sirens blaring.

Among the fun and games planned is a painting competition, fancy dress competition, beautiful baby competition, bouncy castle, faces painting. This year we have a twist, 14 November is World diabetes Day and we have joined forces with The Cayman Diabetic Association. One of their aim s in fighting against diabetes is to decrease ‘childhood Obesity’ through diet and exercise. With the help of Mobile Fitness Solutions, they will be proving a series of exercises and games from hula hoops, trampoline, games, exercises rope jumping etc., aimed at doing just that. They will be helped by members of the Rotary Central Club.

Food and drink is provided for all the children, including hot dogs, hamburgers, Ocean Spray, Gatorade, and snow cones. To ensure that the little ones do not get sun burnt there will be ample supplies of sun screen courtesy of Ocean Potion.

Every child will receive a free gift and have the chance to win one of five bicycles, thanks to the generosity of First Caribbean International, G.E.L., Kirk Home Centre. We will also be handing out the Children’s Artwork Competition Awards, this is from the schools artwork competition for across the islands.

The event starts at 12.00 noon and runs till 4.00pm

The Crescent is located at the end of the Paseo in Camana Bay overlooking the sound, and there is ample parking.
