Volunteer

Volunteer

Volunteers are of great value to Pirates Week Festival. Not only do volunteers help to save the festival money by reducing costs of services but they help to provide better service to stakeholders (visitors, locals, performers, sponsors, etc.), increase contact with the greater community and make available expertise needed by festival staff. The Festival Office is always looking for volunteers that are committed, energetic, creative and willing to help fulfil the Festival’s objectives. Corporate T-shirt Drive

Corporate T-shirt Drive

By purchasing an official T-shirt your employees can promote the festivities during Pirates Week (10th to 18th November) alongside your own organisation. This is an opportunity to heighten your visibility via the most attended social event on the Cayman Islands’ community calendar and generally promote a fun atmosphere during that week within your workplace. This initiative will support the festival financially while creating a sense of community pride among private and public sector entities. There are two T-shirt designs available with your organization’s logo appearing on the reverse side. Orders and payment must be submitted to the Pirates Week Office by Friday 14th October, 2016 . Shirts will be available for pick-up by Friday 4th November. For more information call the Pirates Week Festival Office at 949-5078 or email info@piratesweekfestival.com

Miss Festival Queen

Miss Festival Queen

Once again, the Pirates Week Festival presents its annual Festival Queen Competition where districts compete for best National Costume. The event will be held this year on Friday 11th November on the main stage located on Harbour Drive at 7:45 pm - 8:25 pm. Miss Festival Queen Cayman Islands competition will continue its tradition by crowning the successor from one of the six (6) districts of Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. This competition has always been a great way to showcase our unique Caymanian culture and heritage through a chosen theme. This year’s theme is “Age of Romance”. Miss Festival Queen is sponsored by The Ministry of Culture . Download the application form here (applicants must contact their Heritage Committee in order to plan for competition).
Float Parades

Float Parades

The Pirates Week Festival introduced the “Illumination” Parade - a night parade where participants will have the opportunity to illuminate their float or enter an entirely different float for an increased chance of winning prizes. The night parade is set for Saturday 19th November while the annual day parade is set for Saturday 12th November and takes place immediately after the Landing Pageant (pirates mock invasion). Both float parades are open to businesses, groups, organizations or individuals. They are also open to visiting groups whose entries will be non-competitive.
